He was previously a professor of internal medicine at National Taiwan University Hospital, a researcher at the Institute of Biomedicine, Academia Sinica, a consultant cardiologist at the King's Hospital of Jeddah and King of Saudi Arabia in Saudi Arabia and a visiting professor of cardiology at the University of Toronto, Canada.
