Brain perfusion scan (CTP) imaging analysis
Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS) is the critical health problem which is the second leading causes of deaths in the globe. The longer patients are diagnosed and treated, the lesser brain could be rescued. CTP analysis aims to generate rich information of physiology perfusion maps such as cerebral blood volume (CBV), cerebral blood flow (CBF), mean transit time (MTT) and time to maximum (Tmax) which quantitatively indicates lesion maps including core and penumbra areas of brain tissues from acute stroke patients.
In this way, perfusion maps can facilitate physicians to precisely identify salvageable brain tissues which is critical to the treatment decision-making process in critical time manner.
While CTP analysis is widely adopted worldwide, various commercial CTP postprocessing software vendors provide heterogeneity of results of perfusion maps due to instable quality of artery input function (AIF).
This motivates us to investigate and develop high reliability of CTP analysis software.
