The center first applied for accreditation with the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) on behalf of the hospital in 2013, as well as assisted the hospital to apply to the Joint International Commission (JCI) for the Human Subject Research Programs (HRPs). During the preparation for accreditation, the center was responsible for verifying whether the standard operating procedures of the implementation units of the HRPP met the accreditation standards, and provided suggestions for revision. Moreover, it regularly audited the various units and the research programs under execution, organized research staff and conflict of interest training courses, and launched subject awareness campaigns, as well as prepared the subjects protection handbook and clinical trial encyclopedia, while regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the HRPP and developing quality improvement schemes. The hospital received site visits from the JCI and the AAHRPP from September 1 to 5 and from September 24 to 26 in 2014, respectively, and attained the JCI accreditation again and the AAHRPP full accreditation for the first time.
