Excellence

Our cancer center has been evaluated by Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare as a “cancer center of excellence.” Surgical procedures are indispensable in the treatment of most cancers. The number of our such surgery exceeds those of most other medical facilities in central Taiwan, and survival rates are similar to those in prominent international medical centers.

Our colo-rectal and thoracic operations are mostly done with minimally invasive surgery, and patients going through such procedures are able to go back to normal life more quickly than before.

Minimally invasive surgery is a combination of surgical skill, endoscopy and various image-creating technologies. It enables surgeons to operate without creating large wounds. There are three important things to minimally invasive surgery: endoscopy and the like, navigating devices, and new skills that minimize damage to tissues.

Our minimally invasive surgery center covers divisions of thoracic, cardio, gastroenterology, colo-rectal, obstetrics & gynecology, ear, nose & throat, and urology. Procedures have been done in endoscopic vessel harvesting, coronary artery bypass (heart not stopping), laparoscopic resection, weight-losing, colo-rectal cancer, lung cancer, prostate and gynecology.

Although the development of our organ transplant team is limited due to Taiwan's reluctance on organ donation, it is renowned for living donor live transplantation, under the great leadership of Dr. Zheng Long-bin, head of the organ transplant center. The number of successful operations grows every year and we are a trusted team on such procedure.

The plastic surgery division carries out reconstruction operations on facial trauma, burns, and on head/neck and breasts after cancer surgery.

Our plastic reconstruction team is internationally famous, specializing in highly difficult microsurgery, such as reconstruction of larynx, vagina, cervix, esophagus, ureter and urethra with patient’s own intestines. Others include reconstruction of limbs, microsurgery on reconstruction of head/neck and lymph tissues.

Dr. Chen Hong-ji, of international fame on reconstruction microsurgery, has trained over 50 doctors from the U.S., Britain, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea on such difficult procedure.
