Chronic Kidney Patients have Entered Hemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis
Exclude contraindications of kidney transplantation:
- Patients with uncontrolled infections.
- AIDS patients.
- Those whose tuberculosis has not yet been completely treated.
- Those with a history of cancer who may have metastases.
- Those with active autoimmune disease who require steroid greater than 10 mg per day or other immunosuppressants.
- Those who are mentally ill or unable to stay on medication for a long time.
- Those with serious diseases unsuitable for surgery.
- Patients with severe cerebrovascular or peripheral vascular diseases who are unable to take care of themselves in daily life, and unable to receive reconstruction surgery.
- Patients with drug or alcohol addiction.
How I Join Waiting List of Kidney Transplantation?
- If you want to understand kidney transplantation, you can call (04)22052121 to extension 11671 or visit the education room of kidney transplantation (located in Meide Building 6F). Besides, you can visit nephrology clinic for further evaluation.
Evaluation at the Nephrology Clinic
- Fill in personal information.
- Complete all tests and physical evaluations.
- After the nephrology clinic evaluation is completed, the patient will be transferred to the urology clinic for evaluation.
Notices for Patients Waiting for Transplantation at the Nephrology Clinic
- The case manager will upload the information to the organ donation and transplantation registry center.
- Patients are assessed and tested for PRA antibodies every 3 to 5 months at the nephrology clinic.
