Description of the Medical Device
Deep spinal stimulator is mainly used along with the electric chip implanted in deep spinal nerves to stimulate the electrode to suppress the pain message released by the spinal nerves to control the pain.
When to Use
Pain that cannot be relieved by medication.
Possible Side Effects
The risks of this procedure (very low, about 1%-3%) include infection or hemorrhage, rejection, impairment, or damage of the implanted device. The implanted device might need to be removed or use antibiotics, even having the procedure one more time.
Care after the Procedure
- Change the dressing regularly and keep the wound dry.
- Consult with your physician or technicians about stimulator adjustment and follow up periodically.
