Description of the Medical Device
Lumbar cage is made of a special kind of material. It comes in all sizes and is implanted to replace human bone for fusion. When treating lumbar spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis, the intervertebral disc must be removed and intervertebral fusion is required. Interior holder is used to secure and increase the success rate of spinal fusion and to create better spine stability.
When to Use
Patients with spinal cord lesions that are diagnosed with the needs of intervertebral disc removal and intervertebral fusion using alternatives instead of bone autograft may use interbody cage.
Possible Side Effects
- Allergy and rejection.
- Infection.
Care after the Procedure
- Change the dressing regularly and keep the wound dry.
- Consult with your physician or nurses about when to wear the assisting device.
