Medication Guidance-Xenical Capsules 用藥指導-Xenical(羅鮮子)膠囊

  • Content: Orlistat 120mg
  • Target: This drug reduces the absorption of fat in the human intestine, combined with a low-calorie diet, for the treatment of obese patients.

Usage and dosage

  • It is recommended that one capsule be taken orally during the main meal or within 1 hour at the latest after the meal.
  • If you do not eat or this meal does not contain fat, you may omit taking it.
  • The dosage is 3 times a day, one pill at a time, without uninstructed increment, because there is no extra special effect beyond this dosage.

Drug storage

  • Please store it at room temperature (about 25 ℃) and keep it away from moisture and light. Store in original package and keep the blister in the outer carton.
  • The drug past the expiry date marked on the package should be discarded immediately.
  • Keep it out of the reach of children.

Possible adverse reactions

  • Most of the side effects are gastrointestinal problems, including oil stains (pants), bloating, fecal urgency, fatty stool, oil discharge, increased defecation or fecal incontinence. It usually occurs in the first 3 months of treatment and most patients only experience it once.
  • The higher the fat content in the diet, the more the above situation increases, and a low-fat diet will reduce the incidence of the foregoing gastrointestinal problems.

Special medication instructions

  • A variety of fat-soluble vitamins, such as A, D, E, K and betacarotene, are recommended to ensure proper nutrition during use.
  • To supplement multivitamins at the same time, you should take them at least 2 hours after taking Xenical capsules or before bedtime.
  • If you are taking other medicines for disease treatment, please tell your doctor so as not to affect the efficacy of drugs due to drug interactions.Coagulation parameters, such as international normalised ratio (INR) values, should be monitored in patients treated with concomitant oral anticoagulants.
  • During medication, eat a low-calorie diet and be patient. Weight loss is evident within 2 weeks of treatment.
  • Treatment for adolescents should be limited to one year. Daily multivitamins should be taken during medication and health examinations should be received before treatment, 6 weeks after treatment and every 3 months thereafter.
