- Objective: Wound healing and gradually increase physical activity.
Constant movement to avoid muscle cramps. - Increased ambulation is encouraged. Eg. Walking, standing.
- Accumulate 30 minutes (or more) of walking exercise every day
- Gradually increase the intensity of exercise. Daily walking cumulative of 30-60 minutes.
Precautions
- Discontinue or decrease activity if experiencing any discomfort from surgical wounds, dizziness, chest pain, low blood sugar…
- Regular breathing patterns.
- Avoid strenuous activities. (E.g. Carrying heavy objects more than 10 kg, sudden movements, twisting or overuse.)
- With hiatal hernia repair, avoid carrying heavy objects more than 10 kg in the first 3 month.
- Supplement with a pre- and post-workout meal.
- Not recommended to go to gyms or use exercise machines.
