China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) in Taiwan was honored as global third in 2022 Digital Health Indicator (DHI) by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in the United States. The award was presented by Andrew Pearce, Vice President of HIMSS, to Prof. Der-Yang Zho, Superintendent of China Medical University Hospital,at the HIMSS headquarters in Chicago on April 19th,2023. The China Medical University Hospital has proven its capability in digital health by scoring well above the global average in the latest HIMSS Digital Health Indicator, particularly in its ability to transform data into knowledge and develop personalized risk prediction, such as with the creation of the "i.A.M.S platform" which helps determine the pathogen within an hour and corrects dosing with precision prescription to reduce mortality and expense. HIMSS officials congratulated the hospital's efforts and excellent results, and expressed their anticipation for the hospital to continue deepening innovation in digital health, and together with HIMSS to improve global public health.

For the first time, China Medical University Hospital was invited to hold the digital health in Chicago, titled "Taiwan Forum - Digital Health Transformation Can Save More Lives". The event received enthusiastic support from global medical elites, with over a hundred experts in attendance, including HIMSS Vice President Pierce and Asia-Pacific Vice President Simon Lin. Attendees listened to the CMUH presentation on Taiwan's digital health experiences on three major digital platforms: the intelligent antimicrobial system "i.A.M.S.", the remote AI-assisted diagnosis system for myocardial infarction-“Central Taiwan Heart Resuscitation Network” and the intelligent lung protection system that visualizes respiratory data-“Integrated Smart ARDS Rescue”. Those platforms received high praise from the experts in attendance, including representatives from South Korea's Samsung Hospital, which was ranked first globally in smart hospitals last year. Bunch of medical institutions inquired about the big data collection and analysis methods of the "i.A.M.S." platform, hoping to replicate in their own organizations and save more lives from sepsis.

China Medical University Hospital was invited for the first time to participate in a forum to express Taiwan's digital health model - "Taiwan Forum: Digital Health Transformation Can Save More Lives."
In addition to hosting the Taiwan Forum on Digital Health at the HIMSS Annual Conference in Chicago, China Medical University Hospital was also invited to participate in two panel discussions at the conference. Vice Superintendent Lee, Oscar Kuang-Sheng, an expert in regenerative medicine and in digital healthcare, represented CMUH in discussing the hospital's successful digital transformation (Measuring Success in Digital Transformation: The Role of DHI in CMUH's Journey to Excellence & DHI Journey). Vice Superintendent Lee also participated in a discussion on the scarcity of healthcare workers as well as healthcare workers’ safety issues in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC Summit: Addressing Key Issues in APAC Healthcare). Both presentations received positive feedback and enthusiastic responses from international experts in attendance.
