Post-sedation Care 鎮靜後照護須知

- Both inpatients and outpatients should be accompanied by family or friends, and do not driven home yourself or having a ride on motorcycle or bike within 12 hours after receiving sedation and pain relief care.
- Sedative effects may still exist within 24 hours after receiving sedation and pain relief care. Therefore, be vigilant and do not engage in the following behaviors:
- Don't drive a car or motorcycle.
- Don't make major decisions and don't sign legal documents.
- Do not do activities that require concentration and hand-eye coordination, such as operating a machine.
- Avoid alcoholic drinks.
- In case of any discomfort after medical treatment or examination, the inpatient should inform the medical staff immediately, while outpatients should immediately return to the hospital for examination and treatment.
- Pediatric patients must be cared for as sedative effects may persist within 24 hours of receiving sedation and pain relief care.
- If asleep, the child should be awakened intermittently to ensure that he/she has an appropriate response.
- Do not feed solid food for the time being. Patients should drink boiled water or liquid drinks first, and they may eat gradually after ensuring there were no nausea, or vomiting.
- Follow the doctor's instructions and administer the medicine regularly.
- On the way home, the child must sit in the safety seat and be cared for by others, who must keep an eye on whether he/she breathes smoothly.
- Instructions for pain relief after examination: after examination or treatment, follow the doctor's advice to relieve the postoperative pain. For any discomfort, please consult the medical staff or return to the hospital immediately.
