The drug you received today for computed tomography (CT) is a non-ionic contrast agent. The drug is leaking into your skin and has been treated immediately by medical staff. Please continue your care as follows

• Raise the part where the drug has leaked.
• Continue to apply a cold compress to the drug leakage area, 3 times a day, 10 to 15 minutes each time, until the discomfort symptoms are alleviated.
• Redness and swelling will be most severe on the second day after leakage. Most symptoms will gradually improve within a few days as the contrast agent is absorbed. Medical staff will follow up on the condition of the affected area by phone. Do not apply alcohol, iodine, or antiseptic. If the above symptoms continue to worsen, please contact the CT room or emergency room as follows:
  • Monday to Friday 08:00 ~ 17:30 Tel: (04)22052121 ext. 13319 for the CT room.
  • Please go directly to the emergency room for consultation on Monday to Friday at 17:30 to 08:00 and Saturday and Sunday.
• If exacerbation, it may cause skin necrosis, changes in sensation, ulceration and compartment syndrome. If you have any of the above concerns, please seek emergency medical attention immediately. You will be evaluated for further management, and may refer to surgical intervention or skin grafting if necessary.
