Before Entering the Chamber
- Please notify your physician or technician if you have a cold, fever, dizziness, headache, new-onset respiratory symptoms or other symptoms during hyperbaric oxygen therapy so they can respond accordingly or stop the therapy.
- This therapy is not for patients who have a cold, fever (≧38℃), or hypertension (≧180/110mm/Hg).
- Please check in before the scheduled time and enter the chamber for therapy on time. Reschedule is needed if fail to show up on time.
- Do not bring restricted items, such as kindling material (lighters, hearing aids, electronic watches, electronic products, etc.), inflammables(such as handwarmer, newspapers, gasoline, alcohol,balm, white flower embrocation, etc.), explosive (such as firecrackers, etc.) to prevent fire and explosion.
- Before entering the chamber.To avoid abdominal distension and discomfort, it is not advisable to eat food that is prone to gas production, such as soda, sparkling water, etc.
- Use restroom before entering the chamber.
Precautions during Therapy
- Ears will hurt when the pressure increases. Patients should do swallowing continuously (such as swallowing saliva or drinking water) and pinch nose and puff up mouth (pinch the nose with thumb and index finger while close mouth tight and puff up the mouth. The pain is relieved when both ears can hear sounds). Please notify the medical staff if the pain continues.
- Keep it quiet and clean in the chamber. No littering allowed.
- No smoking in the chamber. Do not smoke 2 hours before entering the chamber. Smoking may influence the therapy effects.
- Do not touch the control panel or devices in side the chamber to prevent accidents.
- If dizziness, sweating, nausea, facial tension or convulsion occurs during oxygen inhaling period, please take off the mask and notify the technician right away.
- Breathe normally during decompression, and it is strictly forbidden to hold your breath to prevent Pulmonary barotraumas.
